Loch-Meadow Kindergarten (LMK) is a morning preschool and kindergarten program starting at age 18 months. We are located in the Church of the Good Shepherd, surrounded by Lochhaven and Meadowbrook neighborhoods from which the school took its name over 60 years ago. The Owner/ Director is Mrs. Karrah Pope. Mrs. Temple Richardson retired after an incredible 45 years owning LMK. The teachers and staff of LMK strive to provide children with a safe, high quality, educationally enriched preschool experience. 

We are a small school with under 100 children and a staff of 16 teachers. We pride ourselves on the warm, family friendly environment and nurturing we give the children in our care. 

 Children move at their own pace with guidance and direction from the teachers and their peers. Children listen, learn, watch, participate and challenge themselves in areas they find interesting. By exposing children to many learning situations, the children learn and grow into thinking and active learners. 

Karrah Pope

Karrah has been at LMK since 2016, teaching our toddlers up to our Kindergarten class. Karrah will be the new owner and director of Loch-Meadow Kindergarten for the 2022-2023 school year. She has a Master's in Education from Old Dominion University and holds an active Virginia teaching license. Karrah believes in a play-based curriculum.

 Temple Richardson 

 Temple owned and operated Loch-Meadow Kindergarten since 1977. She has a passion for early childhood development receiving her Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education and Master's in Elementary Education/Reading.
